march madness

Spring is near!

Even though spring is bursting open all around me, apparently I've been hit with an urgent need to knit hats. These will probably go unworn until next winter -- I do live in California! -- but I continue to cast on hats. The newest:

Koolhaas in Malabrigo Merino Worsted, Marròn Oscuro colorway

Finished (yay!) last night, I also present to you:

Basic Sock (2x2 rib, heel flap) in Knit Picks Felici, Firefighter colorway

And from the kitchen, Peanut Butter and Jelly Bars. I have the entire Barefoot Contessa cookbook collection, and this recipe is in Barefoot Contessa At Home, but can also be found here.

They're a hit.

I was in the valley this weekend and the almond blossoms were SO GORGEOUS! The full orchards in bloom almost looked like they had been snowed on. Didn't the air smell a little sweeter, too?

The hat and socks are fabulous! Great colors. And thank you for the link to that recipe...mmmmm....

MMMM, those bars look delish. I'm sure I can veganize that recipe too! :)

Love how the firefighter socks came out! My hubby is itching for some socks right now.

I too am in hat mode. I just finished an Amanda Hat and a Butterfly Hat this week and I'm starting on Koolhaas tonight. Malabrigo March is just what I needed...even though it's near 80 degrees here today. :)

Happy Week sweet friend.

I agree. Gorgeous photos! Love barefoot Contessa, but haven't tried that recipe. Must do. Same with Koolhaas. Love it, must try. And with Malabrigo...yummy!

Oh, and the socks. Perfect :)

Every single Malabrigo colorway is just wonderful! I love how it's knitting up in that stitch pattern.

Great Firefighter socks too, and those PB&J bars look delicious!

Wow, I have that cookbook but I never noticed that recipe before! It looks very yummy.

I figure I'll be knitting hats all year around... My knitting phases make no sense... And Koolhaus, it's worth knitting anytime!
